i have issues with the payment method
i live in iraq but unfortunately i dont have a debit card here neither am i getting one anytime soon, thing is i wanna add a payment method using my father's debit card (visa), he's in the USA and so is his visa, question is, can i use his debit card without any trouble? he claims it would get the card blocked using it from such a distant place while he is currently in the USA. He recently gave me the information but i was too worried to add his debit card into my account because of one thing, the country box only had one option, which is iraq, steam support said i should change my location to the location of the card, but i dont seem to b able to, should i just choose iraq and enter the info of my dad's debit card, then use it without trouble, or will this create issues with my father's payment method?

Steam has its own set of requirements to ensure hijackers and credit card thieves aren't able to get away with fraud.

Also, the bank can choose to decline purchases from certain companies if seen as suspicious.

Eaiser to have him send you either a digital wallet card or buy a physical wallet card.

What you want to do can cause restrictions on your account.

thing is, i've used my father's debit card before on my app store, and i've purchased couple of items with 0 issues, but what gets me worried is when ur inserting the information, everything goes smooth until you get to the country settings, where it asks about the country where u have the debit card. the only option i get is iraq and i'm afraid if i choose that, it will begin the trouble, which will lead to the deactivation of the debit card. i'm thinking i should probably just use gift cards instead, but please if anyone knows anything about this, inform me, help would be highly appreciated.

another thing is that it mentions the fact that the location you choose must match the debit card location and your steam location setting, which obviously isn't the same

You would need to have the same address on your account as the billing address for the card itself.

It will not work the way you want it to.

Also, the card company can decline the purchase and flag it as suspicious/fraudulent.

Just do as I suggested in my earlier post and everything will be fine.
