ps3 controller not syncing anymore...need help

So i have been using a ps3 controller on pc and it has worked copmlitely fine. my drivers are fine and up to date my usb cable is fine (have tried switching the cable and the place i plug it in). i have tried resetting the controller multiple times and nothing that i have tried has worked. i cant accses the controllers sentting from the driver because my computer is not detecting it anymore... any help is needed and much aprceiated. thanks!

Sounds like the controller could have failed. Try it on another computer or PS3. If it doesn't work on another device then it has failed and you'll need to buy a replacement.

What were you using to get it working before?
Check other devices work in the USB ports you're trying to confirm the ports are working correctly.

I was using SCPToolkit when I used my DS3. Maybe give that a go to see if that works for you.

Edit: Heres a Link to information, download link and installation instructions for SCPToolkit. You can also use SCP to get a DS3 working via bluetooth if you have a compatible bluetooth adapter. Keep in mind it take 100% controll of the Bluetooth adapter if you choose to do this.

See usually when i plugged my controller to my pc it would show up in the devices and printers section when u got to the controlpanel and click there but now it doenst even show up there... i even tried to connect it to another computer but it didnt work ://. So i think the fault is in the controller and maybe byuing a new one would help?

Yeah souns like the controller doesn't want to work correctly to me too. Should be able to find used DS3 for sale quite cheap nowadays. Or you could upgrade and get a DS4 instead like me Steam Supports DS4 natively now so no need for third party software.

I actually still used SCP for my DS4 till I upgraded before xmas last year when I switched to DS4Windows instead. Haven't used Steams native support yet as DS4Windows works and I don't seepoint in changing till it break
