Having issues resetting password
So today I attempted to reset my steam password however it keeps giving me the same “password is invalid” message? I should mention I’m doing this on mobile as I lack access to a pc at this time. Can anyone help please?

I have a 20 character password utilizing, numbers, symbols, Upper case letters and small case letters. I cannot be getting two different passwords or making a typo as I am copying and pasting to avoid that possibility.

What is up with Steams password system? The only rule that i have found thus far on Steam passwords was on Google as Steam apparently does not give direction of any kind via the password page is that the password must be a minimum of 6 characters.

I have met the minimum of requirements of every other site I would assume that Steam would have to have similar rules otherwise they post the requirements on the page... But then again... this "is" Steam, who friggin knows with these retarded bastages.
It’s because your copy and pasting it. You need to hand type it
No he doesn't, I'm using a password manager since always and copying & pasting always works. From my experience the length has to be 63 chars max. And then there is the tricky part mentioned above, put a space (or other character) at the end and then immediately delete it with backspace and press enter, or as someone else said the first character must be capital letter. Also, temporarily without special characters. It is a nuisance however 😵

Hey, I’m having the same problem, except the posted solution isn’t working. My new password starts with an uppercase letter and contains lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. I’m still getting the invalid password message. Anyone have any other ideas?

Try not using special chars or symbols, just letters and numbers. 63 chars. Then maybe try some time later, like in a few days. I'm not sure if using a different browser or even OS (live Linux dirstro?) would help, but it's worth trying if you need it that bad. I do know that I did have the same issues twice so far, and after some time I tried again and I was able to use special chars as well.

To anyone having issues, ignore all replies no one in this thread has given the correct response. Here is the issue, most people type passwords on a notepad then copy n paste into the window, this will not work no matter what combination of characters is used. SIMPLY DO NOT COPY N PASTE. Or you will get the error. Problem solved.

I had this problem. I used Norton password generator, set to small and capital letters, numbers, and symbols, and set to 20 characters. I regenerated the password until I got one that
Started with a capital letter.
I used the copy and paste operation to copy it to the password input, and then I
Deleted the last character (hidden).
Then I used copy and paste again for the confirm input, and again deleted the last (hidden) character.

It (finally) worked, for both the store and the client passwords.

On the side tab in Mobile app, click Support, now click on My Account, click on manage account details, scroll down to change password, enter your code you're given that ask for from you, next read what it say, if it say enter old password do so, if the next two say enter new password, do so for those as well, if you get only two bars, and say enter new password, then enter new password only, make sure both the same in both bars.

1st letter's should be upper case, add an number's, and add an symbol's

Example Hithisistom123@

This was the solution for me. Thanks!
It's so Stupid that Steam dosn't say that to you on the reset password screen.
