RAM Usage Exceeds Limit
I have 8GB RAM and I realised on poorly-optimised titles like Black Ops 3, RAM usage exceeds 8GB, often going to 8.3GB usage.

Monitored with MSI Afterburner.

Just wanna know what happens when RAM usage exceeds limit and will it damage my PC in any way??

P.S. temperatures all under control

You do know the minimum system requirements are 6 GB?, it <may> consumes more depending what graphic settings you are using.

To your actual question: Things may start to sluttering if it exceed your RAM limit.

You start to use virtual memory (your hard drive) when things need more memory then you actually have. It's considerably slower than RAM.

So, get more RAM.

But will it damage my PC in any way? Or have any long lasting effect? I understand that it starts using virtual RAM but the computer should recover soon after I terminate the program and starts releasing all stored data for the game.

Thanks for the reply. But will it affect long-term performance of my pc?

No, it will not damage your hardware.

Long term you're fine. Though you'd still want to eventually get another 8GB.
