Possible to retrieve VERY OLD steam account?

Hi everyone!

I've created an account back in 2004~ and around 9-10 years ago I lost that account. It might sound strange but I don't really remember how I lost it. It could've been a hack but I'm not certain, because when i look on the account I see that the friendslist is pretty much the same exact friends that I had, my real life friends mostly. I imagine if some hacked stole it they would remove old friends and add their own friends. Also the in-game nick is the same as the one I used "GuRR".

Anyway, since I've got my real life friends on this new account (this one) I could find my old account through their friendlist and it's this one: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197964354365/


The thing is, I don't remember which account name I had for that account but I think I know which e-mail it was and I think that I've still got access to that e-mail. I've tried retrieving the account by using the "lost account" support but when I write in the e-mail that i'm almost certain I used I get the message that there is no account attached to that mail.

So this is a pretty big cluster-mess but I guess I've got nothing to lose by writing here and asking if there is any way for me to get this account back? :P If I can prove the old email I used to create the account or so?

I've not got any CD-keys or so from that account and I guess I didn't really have much games on that account anyway since I was very young when I created it and didn't have lots of money to spend on games back then :P


A long shot, but is there ANY WAY to get this account back?

Did you try every possible e-mail account you ever remembered using? :P

You will not retrieve an account that you don't have proof for, for security reasons. If someone went inactive for a while then someone comes and tries to claim the account without any verifiable evidence/proof, and they got your account, and then you come back... it would be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Thing is, I only remember one e-mail account. The one I mainly used for most of my stuff :P
I know that I had several back then and I _MIGHT_ have used that but I really don't think I did.. Anyway, I don't remember any of those... So long time ago haha :(

Can't any of your friends on that account see your username?

I have contact with a few of my friends still. But how can they see my account login username?
As I said, I know the account and I linked the profile in the original post. But how can they see my steam login name?
From what I know, I can't see my friends steam login names? I can only see their current nickname they use in game?

Your login name will be the email you used to sign up with. Back then account names are email addresses.
