How do you edit out indie games when searching for games?
I think I previously posted this in the wrong forum

So this has become a problem for me in recent years and I don't know how this happened but has stopped me from buying a lot of games on Steam. So basically when ever I click on genre RPG I am flooded with tons of crappy Indie games that I have no interest in.

Is there any way to customize your search or when your looking in the store to edit out indie games? Its very hard to browse when you have pages of crappy indie games and searching to discover a decent game. Unless I know what I am looking for that's when I am okay but it used to be I would look in the store and discover an amazing game now its just flooded with indie games.

Thanks

Bump
Nope, not really. There is no "Indie Game" tag or category, so all games that belong to a certain genre will be displayed if you look for it, from the mega cheap 1 man Indie RPG Maker game to the AAA 50 Million bucks production.

This is a problem because the entire market has a bunch of really bad games that I’m not interested in.

Between visual novels or mobile like games it’s flooded the market with stuff that just makes better games harder to find.

I wish they could add a feature to filter out indie games.

Between mobile games and steam my purchasing on these platforms have changed these past two years due to indie games flooding the market drowning out good games
Use Enhanced Steam in a normal browser and you can exclude tags from the search to refine more along what you like.

Honestly, i long ago started to inform myself of new releases outside of Steam.
There are enough genre specialized sites like RPG Watch or similar that list the interesting
new games. And then i just search for them by name on the store.
You are right, the store itself has become a bloated mass of shovelware, indie games and mobile phone ports. Its really hard to find interesting new releases just by browsing the store.

Sort by highest price first.

Thank you. I am glad I am not alone in this. The shovelware in the steam store honestly needs to be in its own section. I'd hope they'd make an indie genre store listing seperately.
