Liar Liar Pants on fire!

Well i made a discussion post before about me being a retard because i didn't look closely but! Now i exposed Steam and their bullcrap..
Alright, so i was getting ready to download RSS. I had 58 gb and required gigabyte is 50. Then i was downloading it and suddenly it stopped saying that there wasn't enough space? The heck? You just told me that there was enough and 2 hours later there is not enough? And no 8 gb is too much to just throw away. Today i reinstalled it to see if i can download it.

Its way past the limit and i only have 5 gigabyte left? 58-50=8. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!

Its only on 70% and it has used 53 gb.. Why do i need more space on my hard drive when it only says 50?

It may need extra space to de-Archive the files, - meaning it needs space to create temporary files that it deletes when finished de-archiving.

Always leave double the space required. It decompresses and possibly decrypts the files as necessary.

If you need to, download it to another drive and then move it afterwards.

And not all developers are good at updating the requirements when patches and DLC's bloat the game's size.

update: now i have 64 gb and is still not enough :C

In case you haven't tried - disable every DLC you might have for RSS (Rainbow Six Siege, I guess). Otherwise, read the answers you have already got. If the base game need indeed more space afte the installation (with unpacking and installing the downloaded files) you have indeed exposed someone, but that would be the publisher, not Steam. You can ask both if they could kindly change the system requirements accordingly.

Yeah Exposing the publisher and not steam kek.. But i just don't understand why they can't make it precise enough.
