Steam Update Jan 25th - Chat windows open off screen
Ever since I updated steam, according to the "about" it was the 25th's update, chat windows have been opening up off screen in such a way I can't move or use them really. They just barely have enough for me to resize them to force them to come back so that I can use them again, but they won't save size or position anymore.

Did you recently disconnect a 2nd or 3th monitor? I sometimes have that issue when I disconnected one of my screens, happens with a lot of programs sadly.

No. No new monitors, no external monitors of any kind.

Does it only happen with steam, or other applications on your PC too?

Steam only.

I'm tech savvy enough to know its nothing to do with my machine, it happened only after this steam update. I think they may have messed something up in steam during the update.

Hmm strange indeed, I have this issue with different applications sometimes after I switched around with my triple monitor setup. Other than that I have no clue dude.. maybe it is a bug but I guess more people should experience the issue

Strange, it self fixed. I have no idea what the cause was but I guess this thread can be closed.

This is happening to me too. It was fine yesterday. I played games, and I chatted with some friends. I started Steam a little while ago and a friend messages me, but the chat window is off top left of the screen, so all I see is the bottom right corner of the chat window.

I only have one monitor, and until today it's always remembered the position of my windows.

I managed to get the chat window back on screen by grabbing the bottom right corner and resizing it until it snapped back into the screen, then resize and re-position it.

Having this issue, and only have one monitor hooked up.

For those with the issue, a quick fix is to right click on the window in your taskbar, click move, then use your arrow keys to move the window back to where you can move it with your mouse.

Yep, still happening, really pissing me off.

The fix people suggest is slow and tedius. Happens every window every time. Started happening again after I rebooted steam.

I'm having this issue, yesterday it was fine, now it shows up with edges outside top left corner. moving with arrow keys work but annoying to do with every chat window.
