What do I do with a free copy of a game?
I have a free copy of South Park: The Stick of Truth but I would like to know if I can sort of get money out of that because I don't really know anyone in real life that could play that game

Well, you can't sell it as that would be a breach of the terms and conditions. Best you can do is find someone who still has a giftable copy of a game that you do want stuck in their inventory and trade for that. You'll need a fair bit of luck though as I'd imagine very few people still have gift copies in their inventory these days.

Or you could trade it for in-game item what you are looking for.

There are quite a few Reddit forums as well as websites made for players to trade gift copies of games for other games or in-game items, a quick google search and you should be able to find something.

Market value is probably under $5. You could raffle it on steamgifts.com
If you want to limit the pool of entries, you can do so by requiring certain group memberships, countries of residence, contributor level and maybe other things.

What's the hurry?

Hold on to it for a while longer. You can always give it away to a new friend, or someone you met on the forum that you like.
