games stuck at "preparing XXX files for installation"
cant download ****, tried changing download regions, clear download cache, reinstalling steam, enabling steam beta
doesnt work help :(

You can try to :
  • disable momentarily any security software (antiviruses, firewalls, ...)
  • run Steam as an administrator
  • boot your computer in Safe Mode with Networking and run Steam to test again

Maybe your anti-virus blocking something? Since when does this happen?
