Email Address Verification for unknown account
I have just received an email from Steam Support asking me to verify my email address, but there is no account name attached to the email anywhere.

I expect it to say "Hello, [USERNAME]", but [USERNAME] is blank. It just says "Hello," and then the rest of the normal verification email.

I am reporting this as I am unsure if the security of my account and/or email address has been compromised.

EDIT: I did not just make my account, I've had it for very nearly 6 years.

No account name? Probably fake.

Check the sender and spelling of all the contents.
The sender is "noreply@steampowered.com". Copy + pasted it from the email. The link it provides is also a legitimate steam website.
The steam client will present you with a green bar, asking you if your address is still correct. If you click yes, it will send you an e-mail for verification.

If you got an e-mail out of the blue without an account name it's a fake.

Spoofing a sender address is really easy. Having a link say one thing while having it direct to something is also easy, or having a slight spelling error or such.

I have changed my passwords and contacted steam support (they have not yet responded), and I've run a virus scan. Is there anything else you guys recommend me do?
Anyone can sent an e-mail, as long as you didn't click anything in it, and/or entered information on the pages they led you to, you're fine. The fact that they didn't know your account name is a good sign it was just a shot in the dark.
♥♥♥♥, I did click something in it. gah, I feel like an idiot

If I hover over the link, the address appears to be legitimate as well. I also scanned it with VirusTotal and it did not detect anything malicious/suspicious
While this may not have anything to do with your issue, others have had this problem when they had a 2nd, long forgotten account, that used the same email address as their current Steam account. Especially because early Steam accounts used the initial email address as the users login name, someone could be trying to brute force that old account. So you might want to strengthen up the password on that email account as well.
