Where do I find game background pics in game library?
Every time launch my game from the Steam Library page I always seen custom background pics on my previous game I played. But I didn't take the picture.

Sometimes it is a nice picture and I want it, but I don't know where to find it.

Anyone know how to get these screenshots taken by Steam?

FYI, Google was no help. Of course I never seem to find the right keywords to type in.

Those are usually the screenshots on the store page.

No, I can see custom content of mine that I have created in the game.

If you've taken any screenshots in-game, then those override the store screenshots.

Open the screenshot viewer and select view on disk for whichever one it is.
View > screenshots

View > screenshots

But I haven't taken a screenshot. and It's hard to accidentally hit F12 while playing.

It has to be somewhere. Maybe I'll look closer in the game folder.

They are in your screenshot folder for that game.

I went to my screenshot folder for this game and I have zero screenshots for Subnautica.

I went to other games and don't see the picture that is displayed on the Steam library.

Open the folder where you have installed steam, and go to - Steam\appcache\librarycache

Those are default game pictures/icons.

But I haven't seen custom pics of the game in steam in a long time. Not since they changed to the phone friendly Steam interface.

Windows: (Storage):\Program Files (x86)\Steam\appcache\librarycache

Took way too long to find, search "hero" for background / splash headers
Edit: "_library_" for a general list of higher rez imagery ; "_icon" could fetch a few useful ones

Thanks for posting this! It still works.

You can easily find the files for a specific game if you search that folder for the game's unique ID number, for example Monaco is 113020.

To find out the number for a game, it's in the URL for the game's store page.

If I go to the store page for Monaco I get and you can see the number right there in the middle of the URL.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
