Graphics card problem
Ever since I got my laptop reformatted I couldnt play games with high fps anymore. I play DotA 2, and it has been playing with 20 fps. After I installed drivers, it had temporary increase in fps. Then after that, my pc restarted and when I opened it, the screen was black. After that, I went back to play my game and it was lagging like hell. So I went to Device Manager, checked my graphics card, and it has a yellow triangle. When j opened it, it said "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43)". I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it again. I run a Windows 10 Pro, Intel core i5. NVIDIA GeForce 940mx. Someone please help. :((((

Under Nvidia Control panel, go to manage 3D settings, and select your 940MX.

Download DDU app and use it to remove the Nvidia drivers while in safe mode.
DDU app[www.wagnardsoft.com] (Click the blue download now text, don't get fooled by the yellow sponsor download button)
How to use DDU to boot in safe mode[imgur.com]

Then download and install the latest drivers from the Nvidia website.

Doesn't fix a malfunctioning device/driver.

I rather download malware, easier to remove and less harmfull. Don't install GFE unless you really need it.

Geforce Experience will only add to the confusion and problems the OP is having.

You want use Geforce Experience to see when a new update is available for your GPU? Create a Nvidia account so we can sent you advertisement emails and enfringe on your privacy. And besides that we will also use your PC as a seed for a few things. And of course last but not least we will be keeping a few logs on your computing behaviour which we might collect for.. stuf..

Do you even realize how hard this company is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you? You don't know what their software does in the background.

In order for us to help you we need your full system spoecs and where you got your drivers from. If you used Device manager I would not recommend doing that to obtain updates. You do not need DDU unless you are installing a new graphics card with a different GPU.

Since you are using a NVIDIA Geforce GT940mx and windows 10 pro you will need to install the folowing drivers from the following link.

http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/134625/en-us

Before you install, you need to uninstall GEForce Experience. Then restart your laptop.

When you install the new drivers, opt out of the agreement to prevent the custom clean install option from including Geforce Experience.

When you are done installing the drivers, you will need to restart your PC again.

I already have the latest drivers installed, as well as GEForce Experience. Also, I cant access Nvidia control panel, instead something pops up saying "You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU." I have also tried resetting my laptop as well as uninstalling and reinstalling my drivers.

That is why you should wipe the old drivers and reinstall them. That is what DDU is used for, it makes sure everything which could cause issues is wiped.

This display error I have never seen before on a laptop. You get it on the desktop when your monitor is connected to another display adapter such as the Intel HD instead of the Nvidia GPU.

Are you using a 2nd screen maybe?
