Half life 2 episode 1 and episode 2 not working in Garry's mod

I have tried playing hl2 ep1 and ep2 through gmod recently and there is something very strange and broken about it. first of all, i do have both ep1 and ep2 downloaded and purchased and they are mounted to gmod properly. but when i go into the game, either the npc's (such as alyx) only have their walking command working properly. whenever an npc uses a coded function they just go into rag doll standing position and stop. and like at the beginning of ep1, instead of alyx's pose or the vortigaunts shield block pose thingy don't work and alyx for some reason just repeats her reloading animation and the vortigaunts go into the rag doll standing pose. even after that, the codes for dog are all broken so your just sitting in the rocks and dog doesn't pull you out. HALP!!!

Reinstall both games.

Im pretty sure they do that anyway in G-Mod, because they arent very stable on G-Mod and glitch out.

im having the same issue, ive tried reinstalling hl2 ep1 and 2 but nothing has worked.

I actually cannot find them at all, unless I haven't mounted them.
