Steam thinks a game is running.
When I start Steam, it thinks one particular game (Insurgency) is already running, so I can never run it. I just get the "already running" error message.

I *can* still play other games, which is something, I guess.....

I've tried restarting Steam and restarting my whole computer but the problem continues.

Steam client is up to date.

If you dont play the game, unistall it. Or try to change categories.

I can't even uninstall it, because it says the game is running.....

You should be able to unistall it even when it's running. I have done it before, If it does not work try to force-stop it.

I can't force-stop a game that isn't actually running and Steam won't let me uninstall because it thinks the game is running.

I think Battle-Eye might be the problem. Still working on it.....

Steam starts with game running after a reboot?
DreadPirate Mar 24, 2018 @ 1:24pm
It *thinks* the game is running (shows as green and "Running" on the Library screen), but I haven't started it at all.....

End the Steam process through Windows Task Manager, and then sign into Steam and uninstall the game. If the game continues to be 'active' you can end the process again and manually remove the game from your Steam folder.

This turned out to be a Battleye problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled Battleye and now it's fine.....

This has happened to me with a few games. Some solutions might be to turn off Steam Overlay/Steam overlay for that specific game.

- Sometimes the problem comes from a task not ending or not ending properly.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I've fixed the problem. It was Battleye.....
