steam icon on task bar not showing download progress

i have a lot of games and there is always an update or game downloading and the steam icon shows a green progress bar that disappears once the download is over, but now i am downloading a game which is over 30% completed but theres no green progress bar, i have tryed restarting steam but it wont appear, i know this is not a serious problem but i just dont feel comfortable when something is not working properly and i would really appreciate your help

Same with me - I miss it as i like to be able to see the progress
Do not see any valid reason for steam to remove it

it dont think it was intentional, i hope they fix this with the next update

Same thing here. Just reset windows and the progress disappeared from the icon. Happy to know it isn't my computer. Hopefully they fix this issue :/.

same and yeah it is almost 2 month... and i was contacting the steam support yesterday and replied. they gave me article and nothing gone work with it.... downloading dota2, warhammer2, rainbowsixsiege,and wwe2k15 since yesterday and only got below 1gb each

Try opting out of Steam Beta.
