DPI Linux Revert
Steam just updated and now my 4K monitor has a very blown up version of steam that does not work on my 1080 dispalys next to it because it is too large. Basically, I am looking for a way to tell steam not to use UI scaling now that it seems to think it is nessacary on its own.

Does anyone know how to change the DPI scaling back to how it was? Is there a launch option or something?

This is what we get for wanting HiDPI support, I mean, this is great on my 4K laptop display, not so great on my desktop with a large screen (and more normal DPI technically).

Steam now checks the "GDK_SCALE" environment variable to determine scaling. Setting it to 1 will disable upscaling but it might interfere with other programs if exported, so a workaround would be to start Steam with:

env "GDK_SCALE=1" steam

hope this helps.

I agree, the update should be reverted. Did anyone find a solution?

I FOUND THE SOLUTION
it is not the best but it works for me

Under Windows 10 Display settings, select a Custom scaling factor of MAX 124%.
The Steam client is apparently set to use some kind of high DPI mode when the scaling factor is 125% and above.

Thank you, that works perfectly!
