How to put hyperlink in emoticon?

Im trying to make it so that when you click

in my profile summary you'll get redirected to my profile in japanese, but when I do, the hyperlink will show the emoticon AND the emoticon's text name, anyone know what to do?

Hi there viet;

Interesting question -- so first off I noticed that your hyperlink is to 'my' profile; so whoever clicks on it will be redirected to their profile (translated to Japanese).

So I went ahead and wrote a hyperlink command out for you that redirects to your profile with the ranger emoticon!

You can copy and paste this, but please remove the space between [ url

[ url=http://steamcommunity.com/id/viet456/?l=japanese]:ranger:[/url]

:ranger:
(I don't have the emoticon, but it'll work for you)

it says ranger next to the emoticon is the problem, you can see in my profile

Try posting just the emoticon here by itself.

I can do this with an emoticon without a broken preview image...

That just brings you to a KB article for Steam. Don't worry about clicking on it.

As long as the preview image is not broken, it will work fine.
