Slow Downloads

I am not sure if someone has already posted something on this, but i have almost 100mb downloads, but in steam, i get anywhere from 7-10mb/s. Is there a fix.
I have checked the limites and set that to none.

I got around 100, went up to 120 max, and down to 99 min, after reaching max

100Mbps as reported by fast and speedtest would be equalish to 12 MB/s as reported by Steam on it's default settings. So you're getting roughly half to just about what you should be getting.

Mbps (note the capitalization) is megabits per second.
MB/s (again, capitalization) is megabytes per second.
It takes 8 bits to make one byte.

Sounds about right..

Fast is displaying your speed in Mbits, not MB per second.

Go to Steam > settings > Downloads . hit the checkbox that says : "Display download rates in bits per second."

Also, steam is undergoing maintenance today, so expect slower speeds. If this keeps happening, contact your ISP. Maybe they're throttling your steam downloads a bit..

well i have freaking 150mbits second download speed and just know im downloading like between 500kb and 3mb :@:@ This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Steam !!
