HL2 wont uninstall

i was reinstalling hl2 and..well it said that it was "uninstalling" but it took less than a second and i reinstalled it but it still took less than a second so i went into the game files and everything was there, uninstalled it and took a look... everything was there. any help?

Unless you actually format the disk, "uninstalling" usually consists of removing the tag that says "this program is here and takes up x amount of space".

If you need to free up space, hl2 isn't a good thing to remove. If you own any other Source engine games and want to play them, it'll pretty much reinstall it anyway since all the resources are kept in there.

Manually find your folders on your hard drive, delete them if you're able. Sometimes it won't give the option, because like I said, the files may be in use.
