I need help please!
So I dont know if I am posting this in the correct area but I never usually actually make posts for help but the past 2 weeks I have tried to launch Resident Evil 2 Remake and since i bought it 2 weeks ago the game will open to a black window then close and that is all that happens.. I went into event viewer to see if that gave me any help but all i could find was this:

Faulting application name: re2.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5c380e5a
Faulting module name: RTSSHooks64.dll, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5c83708c
Exception code: 0xc0000417
Fault offset: 0x000000000004d4fc
Faulting process id: 0x16f0
Faulting application start time: 0x01d58e81e2178db8
Faulting application path: D:\Games\Resident Evil 2 Remake\Resident Evil 2 remake\re2.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\RivaTuner Statistics Server\RTSSHooks64.dll
Report Id: ab8f1fb4-91cc-42f9-abaf-dd33ebb3572a
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

I noticed TSSHooks64.dll was written in it and then the path for RivaTuner so i suspected it had something to do with clashing with MSI Afterburner or something so i uninstalled it and restarted and tried again but the same thing. I looked it up and people were saying it was becuase of a media feature pack not istalled but this was for N versions which i do not use.
I have tried reinstalling windows also

I just built this PC and kept some of my old parts (PSU, HDD, SSD, GPU)

My specs:
Ryzen 5 3600
RX 480 8GB
4 x 4GB Ballistix Sport RAM
Corsair cx650M PSU
Adata 128GB OS SSD
640GB HDD for games
Windows 10 PRO

any help is appreciated, thanks.

See if the offending DLL is still there.

@ReBoot the DLL is still in the folder that it is directing too yes.
ReBoot Oct 29, 2019 @ 6:28pm
Delete it.
Claytooooon Oct 29, 2019 @ 6:35pm
@ReBoot just tried that and uninstalled the program that was using that DLL but this did not work after a restart.

So is the file deleted now or not? "Just tried" is so nebulous, it feels deliberately obfuscated.

sorry yes it is fully deleted i went back and checked and that folder is gone also done a search in file explorer for the DLL and there was no luck finding it anywhere else

Stop double posting. You can a) think before posting and b) edit your posts.

It may still look for the DLL. I don't know the tool personally but from your description, it's written by incompetent dorks.

Sorry for double posting, the DLL is from the tool that comes with MSI afturburner called "RivaTuner" used for FPS counting, gpu/cpu/ram usage while in games.
