So I played this game off of itch io

And for some reason it's integrated with steam multiplayer? And said I was running a game called "spacewar", should I be concerned, because I never downloaded this game?

SpaceWar is a SteamWorks tutorial, it does have legitimate uses or it wouldn't be in the steam DB.

All I can assume is the developer is using SpaceWar to piggyback on Steam's servers and get 'free' multiplayer.

Whatever is going on, it isn't legit and I'd probably stay away from it for now.

It could be that the developer is using art assets stolen from another title, that's why he's chosen this route because he knows his game wouldn't pass Steam's scrutiny.

Yeah probably, I just heard it was going to be a "Spiritual successor" to the hidden: source, which I found interesting so I wanted to see what it was about. Seems like it was a bad idea.

Wouldn't be surprised if the weapon and player models were ripped straight from CS:GO.
