Faster download speeds.
We all know ISP's throttle a connection. Especially when a lot of traffic is on the node.
I have been doing tests for the last week and let me say this was all repeatable on my end.

I just got 500 down and 20 up internet last week. Was 150/15. New Docsis 3.1 Modem also.
I noticed right after that sometimes Stem downloads were only going to 50-60 which is 5-6 mbs on the steam download page. I even called the cable company. Tech came to my house and changed a line to the house etc. Tried down load when he was here and got 51 on steam download. Last few days though it slowed back down. So I figured I was getting throttled. Only 2 people in the house though.
So what I did was after starting a steam download I also opened the Midco speed test site. Midco is my ISP.
I started a test and low and behold as that started to run my steam download quickly went from 15 mbs to 49.
I have done this for the last few days and it is repeatable.
The reason for this is there is only so much bandwidth on each node. So even if you are paying for 500/20 if you are not using it you will be throttled. ISP's will not tell you that though.
Now when you run there own speed test there must be a flag that occurs that tells the ISP and they open the throttle back up. This way you think that the ISP is working at full speed so it must be Netflix's, Amazon or whoever's fault that you buffered a couple times even with fast internet.

I have done it 5 times and all 5 steam downloads got faster when I started the midco speedtest.
Now if you are getting full speed all the time on fiber etc my post means nothing to you.
