Where is my steam app password stored?
Hello, I want to take my PC to a tech for some upgrades...but I'm paranoid as all hell...
I know he will need admin privilages to my pc in order to work, but that also leaves me "exposed" , I can never know if the tech will want to also steal something on the side(credit card numbers/steam account etc)for whatever reason.
I've managed to "cover" most of my passwords, but I can't for the life of me do that to my steam app.
My main concern is that someone more knowledgable might copy that specific file and with a simple paste function pretty much have access to my steam account without my knowledge.

Is my concern unfounded? and if not, where is my password stored so I can try to cover my basis on that front as well.

Just go into your client settings and mark the " Dont save account credentials on this computer"
option under ACCOUNT.
Then you ALWAYS need to use your login + SteamApp code ( if you use the app) to log in.
And nothing gets saved on your system.

Well, the user-id still gets saved regardless... in plain text too. Borderline useless on its own, but if the OP wishes to delete it anyway then it's in loginusers.vdf in Steam's config directory.
