slave hdd not recognized by steam?

greetings,

So, lets cut right to it. im having issues with games installed on my HDD. I currently run an SSD and an HDD, with the solid state being my main drive. i installed the hdd last week (had it as my main before i got the solid state, and finally got around to installing again). i used Steam Mover to move some of my rather large games to the hdd. everything ran great for over a week. now, it seems as though steam does not recognize the games that are installed on the HDD, and steam queues some up for an initial install, and will not recognize that the game is already installed on the hdd. other games will not even run, and i will be prompted a write error. yes, ive made sure i added the steam folders within the hdd in the downloads settings, ive tried repairing the drive, verifying game files, checked windows firewall to make sure nothing is blocked, and checked the content logs for each game to see what the errors are, only to find it giving me the path for the game install. 3 mbps where i live, so im hoping to find a way to fix without re-installing!

I'm assuming you are using a Windows system... but did you format the new drive with exFat or NTFS?

yes windows 10

Just note that exFat is supported for Windows.

Sounds like Steam Mover didn't work right, it's why I used Steam's built in function to move my games.

Can you at least install a game to the new drive? Something that wasn't installed before.

steam will let me allocate space on the new drive, and im downloading now.

Sounds like something still wasn't right. It's possible that Valve changed something in Steam that Steam Mover hasn't addressed yet, and can cause issues down the line.
