Far Cry 5 not launching, steam won’t refund

All, I can’t get Far Cry 5 to launch on my computer though it meets all the minimum requirements. It crashes on startup right after the Far Cry graphic shows up, but then won’t re-launch because it says the game is already running. I have tried everything. The catch is that steam thinks that I have 16+hours of game time because the game process is running in the background...but it’s not opening on the screen. Because of the non-existent “playtime” steam will not refund my money. Any suggestions?

Open a Steam Support ticket and explain the situation. The standard refund request system is pretty automated and only looks on playtime/days owned.

To do that, go to the Support Page - Purchases- select the game - i have a question about this purchase.
That will give you the option to open a ticket.

So you've tried using the task manager to kill the game process in the background which would allow you to try to execute it again? And if done earlier would have prevented you exceeding the refund limit.

You have 16.8 hours in game... you're not getting a refund.

The rules clearly state 2hrs played and less than 2 weeks owned.

If you meet requirements, try updating drivers for grafic card

what are your specs anyways? CPU/GPU/RAM/OS?
