Reinstalled Windows, Steam apps on separate drive
OK, Windows 10 installed on C: drive, SSD, Steam client installed there. D: drive contains steam apps. All OK until Windows wouldn't boot. Long story short, had to clean install Win 10 back on C:. Steam apps files still on D:. Is there any way to install / configure the Steam client so that I don't have to download all the apps again (as I've already got the files on the D: drive)?

Simply create a new Steam game installation directory pointing to the old SteamApps.

Will that recreate registry settings etc?

It doesn't have to.

Cheers, all working fine! One less thing to reinstall / worry about...

After you guide it to where the games are installed, it'll auto detect your games. When you run the games, it'll run through the first time setup, which will download and install anything that game needs that you don't have, and setup entries in the registry.
