why would i have to wait to use the marketplace after installing the steam app on phone for extra security for you all, i have the passwords and have verified its me by email and phone so let us use it and not wait the 15 days....cant believe i pay for this

A Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator provides additional security for your account. Adding an authenticator does not immediately remove existing restrictions. Trades created within the first 7 days of adding the authenticator will still have up to a 15 day trade hold. This allows your items to still be protected and gives you time to recover your account if a malicious actor were to ever add an authenticator to your account.

If your account was already protected by Steam Guard via email, you will have no new restrictions from using trading or the Community Market. If your account was not protected by Steam Guard via email or mobile app, you will be restricted from using trading and the Community Market for 15 days because Steam Guard has been recently enabled.

It's free to use - if you can't use it, that means you aren't paying for it

You could have easily arranged and prepared your market eligibility when you first got the game. If you ignored the requirements all this time, that's your oversight so you have to wait like everyone else.

Or a hijacker that added his phone number to your hijacked account. That's why there's a cooldown after adding the authenticator.

You know only steam only wants your phone numbers so they have something to sell to Indian telemarkerters, right? They want to apply 2FA to the sale of a $0.05 trading card we get for free, and they claim this is to prevent fraud. ♥♥♥♥♥ please. I pay $2 to get my own money out of an ATM and you want to "protect" a card I got for nothing that's worth 5 cents from "fraud?" Do you know any criminals who are going for five cent scores? Because I sure as hell don't. So to protect my account from having a five cent card stolen, they implement a 14 day hold on market transactions. Well that really helps, considering I only wanted to sell the cards to get a steam sale badge. But wait, in 14 days I won't be able to do that because the card expires before the 14 day hold is over. Champion effort, Steam. Got some real geniuses working for you, don't ya.

1. They don't sell your numbers. Never had a spam call on my phone that has the mobile app on it.

2. The cards expiration date for the large sales events are extended for a month just for users like you. They expire August 6th.
