Game won't stop "running"
I'm pretty sure for a few days now, one of my games, that I've only gotten at most 5 hours on, now has a little over 200 hours on it, it's not open and I can't delete it because it's open. Can somebody please help me?

Cancel it through task manager.

It's not actually on, so it doesn't appear on there

In the Task Manager, try to find and close the process for the game. Failing this, try ending the Steam.exe process. Restart Steam.

If it's not "closed" then look for gameoverlayui.exe in task manager and kill that.

I have a comparable issue. Restart does not change the situation and I can not find gameoverlayui.exe

If it is an older game, try setting compatibility mode for the game you are trying to run and set it to run as administrator.

Set compatibility to whatever version OS the game is specified to run under.

I have recently ran into this problem as well. I solved it by shutting down my laptop, which worked.
