Tutorial for Getting Steam to work on the Google Pixelbook (ChromeOS)
Good Morning All,
I put together a quick guide to get the Linux version of the Steam Client to function on ChromeOS. This will currently only work on the Google Pixelbook when set to update to the developer channel. *You do not need to be in developer mode!

The steps are outlined here https://kmyers.me/blog/chromeos/can-you-run-steam-on-chromeos-via-project-crostini-i-dont-see-why-not/

I will try to get around to this a bit later this week.
Hello KeithlMyers, I tried this and I was able to install Steam, but it does not run. What could i be missing? Thanks in advanced.

Same here - I'm running a Pixelbook with the Chrome OS 69 stable version with linux support. I've followed the instructions and the app is in the drawer, but it just 'spins' in the taskbar when I try to open it, and nothing else happens. Any ideas?
Hi. Has anyone else tried this and has an issue with scaling of the steam application? It is so tiny I cannot even read the text without a magnifying glass. lol It seems like the crostini app scaling does not follow the same scaling setting as chrome OS.

Two years later and it still has the same problem.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
