There was an error communicating with the Steam servers. Please try again later.
i get this error when trying to buy anything on the steam client, it doesnt work on the browser either. i dont know why it is giving me this error can somebody help me?

ive had this error coming up for a week and it happens even when i restart the client

For me, for some reason, it regularly does this, especially after my laptop was in sleep mode. Every time, I have to Exit Steam, then Log In again.

I had same problem - and it persisted for days. "Try again later" didn't help. What fixed it for me was going offline (from the top menu, Steam, Go Offline...) which restarts Steam in offline mode, then going back online again.

Try going on the Steam website, that's what helped me
