RAR file not opening. HELP!

I was downloading a mod for a game. It was a RAR file and I accidentally opened with Notepad and I tried opening with another app but nothing else would even open the file. I couldn't switch it back anymore. Anyone have any ideas?

Right Click on the .rar > Open in program > Select default program

If any other suggestion fails, it shouldn't be difficult to re-download the file and extract it using the correct tool.

I don't know what the default program is. I originally pressed open with Notepad and now it only opens in Notepad. Everytime I re-download the file it opens in Notepad. I think that it was originally a ZIP file but now it's just one icon which only opens in Notepad and is identified as a RAR file. I'm not a computer geek so I don't know how to switch it back to it's orignal "form".

You're missing the file extension. As i said, the FULL filename.

RAR? All it says after the name is the type of file.
