Notification stuck

I have a notification for an unread chat message that won't go away, when I open the chat it is just from [unknown], nothing I do will get rid of the notification, please help!

I have same problem and that link doesnt help much... its annoying because with the new chat there is no way to fix stuck notifications

A lot of people have said this works, but I still havnt fixed the issue and it's now somehow built up to 89 notifications. Do you know of any other solutions?

There is a persistant bug with the new chat UI.

I had the same problem and fixed it just now by temporarily reverting back to the old chat UI, opening the message, and then it finally went away. Here's a link on how to go back to the old UI https://youtu.be/RrLMsPhEMIM

nothing helps. just nothing. i hate this platform so much. to stop this i even created new account and bought games on it. and this bug again. I just cant live with that, im trading all the time and this message just confuses me

Open the chat from browser and after the notification will dissapear.
This bug happens when someone sends you a message and after unfriends/blocks you.

I managed to fix this by sending a message to the person the notification was for and having them respond to it. They didn't unfriend or block me to cause it.

Things ive tried:

Signing out & signing in
opening chat messages from where the notifications are from
replying to those messages
doing both those things you linked (if it was that simple i wouldn't have commented)
