Wont let me buy DLC - Says I dont have the game but I do.

Trying to buy Shogun 2 DLC, states transaction failed due to not owning the game but I do and just reinstalled it via steam. Natrually not one support topic on that (at least that I could find).

Which DLC are you having issues with? By the way, it might help if we could see the games list on your profile - we can't at the moment thanks to the new privacy functions that were rolled out recently. If you would kindly change your privacy settings to make your games list public then we might be able to shed some light on the situation.

Trying to buy the Otomo DLC, and I have Shogun 2 installed and playing it. Transaction fails saying I don't have Shogun 2. I just installed Shogun 2 from my game library and was going to try out some of the new DLC. Ive bought other DLC for Shogun 2 in the past but the newer ones fail.

You should definitely contact the devs or publishers either through the game's own forums or via some other method. There's something weird about the SteamDB info for that DLC... the MustOwnAppToPurchase setting doesn't match the parent code - that can't be right, can it?

That's the thing, I own Shogun 2 but I don't own app 201270 - I own this:

The DLC's SteamDB entry marks appID 34330 as its parent but requires the user to own appID 201270. I'm presuming that's the root of the problem.

Edit: Interesting. That link shows as an error to me despite my having copied and pasted it directly from the relevant store page on my own client. It definitely looks like the game's store profile is busted in some way.

Hm, I can't see your link. Checking the app IDs makes it certainly look like Steam/Sega/CreativeAssembly screwed something up.

Yup that is exactly the problem. Steam views Shogun 2 and Shogun 2 Fall of the Samurai as the same. You cant buy Shogun 2 if you have fall. I bought a Shogun 2 key offline and added it. Problem solved. Thank you so much.

Well, you should still take this up with Sega or CA as this will need to be fixed before someone else runs into the issue.

Same here. I'm trying to buy "SHOGUN 2: Otomo DLC" but it's says that I don't have SHOGUN 2. I've even tried to reinstall the game.
Unlike @osaxono, I don't have the "Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai", but I do own the "Dragon War Batlle Pack", wich also requires the game Shogun 2!
