I only report suspicious players, but I try to avoid reporting experienced players unless I see an obvioius cheat. But I'm not an admin here, I'm playing the game. I'm not going to waste the whole game trying to spec you. I find the game experience is a good hint to what kind of character you're dealing with. And I routinely see the message on my main screen saying players I've reported have been banned and THANKING me for helping out. There's no doubt that there's a stupid number of cheaters in CSGO (from ghosting in casual all the way to straight up walls and aimbots). And yes, there are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of cheaters in casual too. I play 99% casual and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't suspect at least 2 or 3 people..
Privacy is a personal matter, you are in no way entitled to see a single thing on a profile, only what the user think you should see.
Privacy is very important, but this is a gaming platform, not a school flie or job application. Your number of hours with a game or what other games you have isn't a privacy concern (UNLESS the game itself is controversial to play, but those can be flagged as hideable specifically since they're so rare on the platform). I fully support actual privacy concerns. i.e., I don't use any social media platforms, excluding Steam if you'd even count that, because Facebook, Twitter, et. al. are all just tracking your every move and selling the data. Steam doesn't bother me though. Aside from being careful what screenshots to upload, I don't really have serious privacy concerns with it.
Of course, and I still report experienced players if I have reason to suspect that they're cheating even knowing that they're experienced, but being experienced means that they can be dominating a server without cheating so that alone is not enough. Meanwhile, if you only have 100 hours in CSGO and you're dominating a server I'll report griefing and walling automatically just to do my part because after almost 3000 hours I still rarely have the luxury to destroy an entire server.
I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ loved Hydra because it seemed most cheaters didn't play it so it was actually a fair game most of the time. What a breath of fresh air! Sad to see it go.
Besides, what if someone plays on a secondary account?
Pretty sure matchmaking only applies to competitive matches. I only play casual because competitive requires too much of a committment most nights. I'm exhausted from work, my mic is ♥♥♥♥, and my performance is like a bell curve throughout the night.
Give me one GOOD, legit reason for a secondary account and I'll consider that point reasonable.
Sure, and they bought the game twice just because they like giving money away. Or more likely, they want an account to cheat on without risking their primary account.
Falsifying your skill level to play with lesser skilled players is cheating. It makes the game unfair. Want to play with friends? Host your own damn server. Or join the countless community servers that are sitting idle anyway. No need to ruin public servers and ♥♥♥♥ all over less skilled players. Grow a backbone.
Of course it's not 100% reliable, but it's often very reliable. And I'm not instabanning them. I'm just throwing my name into a hat of people that think they should be reviewed by even more skilled players. My understanding is that overwatch only reviews competitive matches, and only if the player has received at least 10 reports. Not sure if that's true. In any case, it feels like there's one or more people cheating in casual on almost every server most of the night. I think more needs to be done to curb it. I've been playing a long time. I don't like to jump to conclusions about hackers or ghosters, etc. But it's just so damn consistent. Top players with less than 300 hours experience, dominating the entire server including me with over 2000... Something is rotten in Denmark, and it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Furthermore, what does what you just said got to do with the new privacy settings? While we can agree that more should be done (and in fact, more is currently being done as we speak), what does that got to do with the new privacy settings?
