I also recently have gotten quite some notificationa that someone tried to log in multiple times on my eg account (which has nothing of value) but entered wrong password and thus my account was locked for 3h.

Then I checked haveibeenpwned.com to see if my mail and maybe an old password was exposed, and indeed, it was on a pastebin. Luckely I change my passwords every year and my mails and steam are all different than any other mail, but was still scary.

Maybe same happened with you
