Report a translation problem
1.Start download on friends computer. Pause immediately and exit steam.
2. Download on your computer. Stop as soon as it finishes downloading (before unpacking is complete)
3. Transfer all of the files out of steam/steamapps/downloading. (I think, could be more files elsewhere, take a dig)
4. Transfer files to identical locations on friends computer.
5. Have friend start up steam, and continue download.
Your friends PC should pick up where you left off, assume it even checks for existing files. It's hit or miss.
Another option would be to just borrow your friends Hard drive, plug it into your computer, and download it to that.
