can anyone help me with obs studio recording

i want to record in ark but if i go to setting in the obs studio and by the recording the encoder only gives me one optoin and it is X264 and if i record the recording is laggy, there are no other options.

if i watrch a you tube video the guy has more options at the encoder because if i understand right the x264 takes alot from your CPU when recording, does anyone no why i can not choose other options?

The x264 is a decoder, even one of the fastest. It doesn't matter if you try another, it still wouldn't fix the lag issues. You should look at a different write location for your vids. Try to write to SSD instead of your HDD. Still won't fix the lag issues 100%

If you like to stream without lag, use Shadowplay from Geforce experience. If you still tend to keep using OBS, please go to their forums.

also, you need a beefy or 2nd setup to run OBS without any lag. Or use newer hardware like Ryzen chips.
