Frames Per Second (FPS) link

It's my understansing that the FPS option is under the Steam heading and noted as 'Settings'. There is no 'Settings' choice under my Steam heading. I do want to activate tha FPS display on my system so I was wondeing if someone could help me with this.

The choices I have under the Steam menu are "Change User", "Go offline", Check for Steam client updates", "Backup and Restore Games" and Exit.

Start up your friends list. Click the lines in the upper corner. Go down to settings. Click "In-Game" and then below "In-Game FPS counter" click on the drop down menu. Choose whatever preferred position and then check High Contrast color in order for it to stand out.

Do you have Family View enabled? If so, that is why you don't see "Settings" in the dropdown menu.

If I may add, just in case it helps anyone else, you can also open up the Settings In-Game, by pressing SHIFT+TAB and there is a Settings link at the bottom (text/word).

In there, click on the "In-Game" Tab and then there is an "In-Game FPS Counter" pull-down menu that has Settings for the overlay.
