Counter strike 1.6 crash/freeze when i join server

So, I haven't played counter strike 1.6 for a while and everytime i try to join any server, the game crashes/freezes. It stops responding. I can't click anything and then i have to go to my task manager and shut the game down. There's no error message or anything. Steam closes automatically when game freezes/crashes. It's always happen after MOTD show up. It started to happen after one of steam updates. I tried everything, reinstall/update graphic card drivers, open steam/game as administrator and with windows xp compatibility, turn off every unnecessary program/process and literally i tried everything to solve this problem.I saw people had this problem in previous years but there's no solution, they said that they had to wait for steam update to solve this problem. Anyone had this problem? I could use some help

Try to play on another server? maybe a server without a motd? What about a lan server you host? bot match, is that a thing you can try easily?
