Can't buy rocketleague DLC - which requires ownership of 'Rocket League

So my brother bought rocketleague and we are using a family share, so we can play eachothers games.

When I bought some steam funds and wanted to buy the rocket league DLC I got a message saying: that I require ownership of the game. My brother has already bought something with rocket league before.

I think the problem is that my brother bought the game.

Yes, getting a game shared does not equal you owning the game.

Own the game on your account and you can purchase the DLC.

OR... Have your brother get the DLC on his account.
