.NET Framework
Why does Steam install the .NET Framework for some games? As a .NET Developer I already have the framework installed.

I guess it installs it just to make the right settings for the game. :lightbringer:

Steam will always install everything even if it is installed already. DirectX, .NET etc..

Steam will run the installers for .NET, DX etc, but likely won't actually install anything if you already have the latest versions of all the files. Without running the installers it can't check this.

It won't install if you already have it; which for WinOS you need all of the following installed anyways:

> DirectX Full-Redist June 2010

> NET Frameworks 3.5 / 4.7 (and ASP Frameworks)

> XNA Frameworks 3.0 / 3.1 / 4.0

> Visual C++ Runtimes; 2005, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2015, 2017; both x86 and x64 of each
