7 Day trade restrictions when i've had steam guard and authentication on my phone for a year ?
Why is this a thing for people with steam guard and a phone authenticator, nothing but unnecessary annoyance for users...

All market purchases have a 1 week restriction from trading and selling.

I know this is about PUBG and the keys/crates/items in the crates.

taken from the steam support page

'' An item hold won't prevent your account from trading or using the Community Market, but it will delay items being transferred to other accounts if you aren't able to protect your account with a Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator. ''

If i understand this correctly, it will only delay if you aren't able to protect your account with a steam guard mobile authenticator.. Am i mistaken ? What the hell is the point of this system if you can't sell or trade instantly with the guard activated. What an annoying and unnecessary system. No wonder there are so many people pissed off about this.

Lol... steam really censores p ! s s ed ?

Additionally

Items purchased in-game or on the Community Market will not be tradable or marketable until after the date indicated on the item in your Inventory.

Is that all the info they give, no reason or explaination for this system to be in place ? It makes no valid sense whatsoever. Other than to annoy users whose accounts are safely secured anyways..

For fraud protection. Just in case the funds used to purchase the items were not from a stolen card.

got the same problem, but im wondering why people can sell items even there is this 7 days ban, can anyone explain this?
NightRider Feb 22, 2018 @ 4:24pm
ALL items purchased on Steam market have a 7-day trading restriction across ALL Steam games and ALL accounts regardless of steam guard or authenticator. There's nothing anybody anywhere can do to avoid it. In some games items can be sold back on the market for wallet funds instantly and in some games they can't, but none can ever be traded instantly.

This was Valve's solution to combat theft of people's wallet funds that scammers would use to purchase items on the market, trade them away across multiple alt accounts and get away with it.

However, the items that have been in your inventory for more than 7 days can be traded instantly.

Because they purchased the keys more than 7 days ago.

I don't know why, ask Valve. It can obviously still be abused but Valve probably didn't want to make all their users completely angry.

So its all about the Keys and i should have 1 or 2 in stock to sell the items of the crates immediatly?
cSg|mc-Hotsauce Feb 22, 2018 @ 4:34pm
All items inside the crate inherit any restriction from an item used to open the crate.

Not necessarily, you have to either get crates from a drop or from a trade. If you purchased the crates too, the restriction applies to the crates as well.
BenHaschisch Feb 22, 2018 @ 4:37pm
Well i bought the crates from Battlepoints but could sell them. So it must have been the Keys obviously.

Thanks for your help guys
NightRider Feb 22, 2018 @ 4:39pm
Well if the crates are marketable, then it's just the keys yeah. No problemo.
