Being asked for activation code/key.

I've just installed a game - Far Cry 3 - that I bought on Steam. But I can't log in because Uplay asks me for an activation code/CD key.

This can't be right. Can somebody explain what I am supposed to do - or what I can do - about this so I can get to play my games (I have several which have the same issue)?

Download and install uplay from here. It will fix the problem. https://uplay.ubi.com

Just now I tried writing down the CD key to Far Cry 3, then started the game up again and entered the CD key, but I am being told it isn't vallid?

I was wondering, I have several Uplay dependant games (Ubisoft games) which have no problems logging in, and then I just remembered that I've had this issue with other games where other players told me that if I already am able to launch via Uplay with other games then I already have Uplay installed.

I've had to give up playing those games....Just plain wasted money. I couldn't return them because I baught them months back - I often do this when I see a game on sale that I know I'll want to play in the future. But maybe I ought to stop buying games this way, it's just a shame becvause it will limit my game playing experience considerably (because I'm not rich so I can't afford to buy just any game whenever I feel like it).
