Don't starve together says I get an extra copy so I can send it to a friend. If I already own the game and gift it, then what happens to the extra copy?

"Includes an extra copy of Don't Starve Together. Send it to a friend!" I already own the game, and two friends want it. I can't buy it for myself so what happens if I buy it and gift it? Does the extra copy stay with me?

The extra copy will stay in your Steam Inventory

You can give it to your friend if you want to, then it would disappear from your inventory.

I`d assume that both copies go to whoever you gift it to.
(because you are buying it as a pack of two in a single purchase).
Not sure though, the only way to find out is to try, - your friend could gift the extra copy to your other friend if this is the case.

I'm assuming the same. If you gift the game to your friend, your friend will have a copy for himself and an additional copy that he can send to your other friend
