duplicate key activation date?
ok here it is a got a key from g2a for a game and the key said it was a duplicate key and had been used i put in a ticket to them and the seller reply's with

"No one got the key before you as it's purchased directly on Amazon (see screenshot). Please contact Steam support and ask about the date when the key has been activated. Then provide the screenshot of conversation. Thanks."

now when i go to the steam support for duplicate keys there is noway of putting in a ticket about it just

Duplicate key error
A duplicate product code error means that the CD key you are trying to register has already been redeemed to a Steam account. The key cannot be registered again.

If you received a duplicate CD key from your retail purchase you will need to contact the retailer who sold you the key. Steam Support cannot issue a replacement CD key. "

but i want to know if steam are allowed to give the information like when the key was activated any ideas anyone?

Thety know Valve will never provide that info.

Talk to support on the shady site that allows people to scam others into purchasing already redeemed keys.

Can you post a screenshot of the conversation? The one you sent to the seller.

you have been scamed, the seller knows that info is never provided to steam so he is cleaning his hands in that site, if you can dont waste your time in the support and do a chargeback, at least you can claim back your noney.

Twitch Xeylore, would you please tell us how you proceeded to contact support and ask them for the activation date of the key, that would help us a lot, thank you.

hi. ive just had a silmilar issue so thought id post how i resolved in case someone else has same issue. i contacted steam by working through a different help topic on steam (steam guard i think) that gave me an option to send a query...i apologised but asked time and date that my key was activated....steam were brill and confirmed that it was activated before my purchase!!
that being said cd keys still didnt agree to a refund despite me sending messages through paypal and direct (including
attaching evidence). in the end i wrote a bad review and pasted it to several websites, they then replied pretty much straight away (through trusted pilot), game me a refund and a £5 voucher....this is the route id go as it seems the only way to not get an automated response...now bought the game through steam no issues...lesson learnt, will never use again.

There is no harm in buying Steam keys from sites. Just use an authorized reseller, they're listed on https://isthereanydeal.com/. Examples are Humble Bundle, Fanatical and Indiegala.
