Why does Steam ask me to Verify my email SO OFTEN?
I have had the same email address for 19 years. I have used Steam for 13 years. Yet Steam CONSTANTLY is asking me... "Is this still your email address? Please Verify your email." in the little green bar at the top of Steam. Why does it do this? When I go into Account settings my email says "Verified" so why does it ask me so often? Seriously annoying.

Steam should only ask you once every 6 months assuming you verify it immediately upon request.

Regretably it was due to people who failed to update their email address when they no longer had access to it, then got locked out of their accounts and couldn't recover them automaticly due to not having their old emails. The hope was to catch the change before it becomes an issue.

It asks me every 5 months. They started doing this as part of a strategy to reduce the load on support. In this case, by reducing the number of tickets of people who couldn't recover accounts because they changed their e-mail and forgot to change it on Steam.

Your email account may also be triggering more frequent verifications if it falls within certain behaviors (like frequent bounced emails)

Maybe we should all create a ticket every time we get this message? That ought to give them something to do in their support division :-D

Harassing Support would be a fantastic way to get all your future tickets auto-binned or your account suspended.
