Refound request vanished after 2 months.
So the other day i tried to buy a game as a gift but bought it for my account on accident, as usual requested a refound and got the confirmation email that my request is beeing reviewed. So i forgot about the thing assuming Valve will take care of this.

Fast forward two months i decided to check on the request since i noticed no chargeback was issued. Turns out the ticket is missing - not closed, completley disappeared. And now i get the automated response of 14 days have passed unable to refound.

What do?

If you still have the confirmation email that your request was received, open a support ticket and include the mail to shop support that you indeed asked for a refund 2 months ago.
If you dont have that mail anymore it looks pretty bad and your chances to get a refund are very slim.

was it your first time refunding?

There's no such thing as "tickets" as far as I remember whenever you refund a game. If I've understood your post correctly, you requested a refund via Steam support instead of the refund system that Steam has. Its usually automatic that they'll refund and it for you and if declined, it means that you've violated the refund mechanics.

Don't forget to tell us what that game you accidentally bought as accident.

Yeah i meant the refound system, however the case disappeared. Then i retried the system with an explaination and the email screen but got a bot response of 14 days owned.

He refunded it with the refund system and got the email saying its under review. Thats normal.
And yes, open and closed refund requests show up as tickets in your Support history page.

I didn't know that...

Although one thing that concerns me is that I've done countless of refunds and you said closed refunds requests also shows up in this support history page you've sent. I've checked mine and its completely empty.

If what you said is true then explain this further?

For me they show up. But i think only for a certain time after they finished.
I refunded about 15 games in the last 3 years but only my last 2 refunds show up for me since they were in the last 60 days or so.

Alright, that makes sense.. I've refunded PUBG couple of times and it was last November so I think its past 60 days as mentioned.

OP mentioned its been 2 months passed so that's really an estimation of 60~ days..

Yeah but his account still owns the game so it never did get through. Of course if someone canceled the refund request before it was reviewed nothing would show up also.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
