Almost out of Memory
Hi,
I don't know much about computers and my c drive is almost out of memory. Steam holds about 50GB on my drive and I'm no sure if that's counting all the games. I was thinking of un-installing Steam and installing it again in a 2TB external drive. Is that something that can be done? Will all the games that I purchase be there? looks for suggestions please. Thanks.

Just add a library to whatever drive you get and install games there. Don't uninstall Steam.

If you have steam on your C:\ it shouldn't take 50GB, perhaps it is a game or two in steam which do take a lot of space. In that case you should try to move those games over and not steam itself

All game you buy will be available to Install where ever you log into your account( some might be region locked). You can change folders by clicking the "steam" menu in the top left corener and go to setting. Enter the downloads tab and click "steam library folders" there it will also tell you the number of installed items in each folder and the space they take.

My steam folder (+games) is over a terabyte. And you can put it on an external drive, i wouldn’t recommend it though, it’ll slow down a lot.

Depends on the connection. There are external formats that are faster than internal SATA, and even USB 3.0 is almost as fast as SATA. Depending on the games you play, and your tollerance of load screens, it's can be a working solution.

The only thing I'd advise is to set Steam to not load at login just to prevent issues if the drive isn't plugged in.
