Payment in Thailand via Bank Account
Actually I wanted to contact steam support, but it is not that easy contact them ^_^

So maybe the community has an idea how to become customer at steam.

I moved from Germany to Thailand some time ago, and changed my account to Thailand.

Now I wanted to order a few games. Steam offers credit card transactions, however it is only possible to add a Thai Billing Address.

I do have a Thai Bank Account (I live and work here), however all online transactions I usually do with my German Credit Card.

Steam offers Paypal as a payment provider, and they do have the option to add a Thai Bank account. So I decided to go this route.

After waiting for 3 days for the verification process with microtransactions on my Thai bank account it was linked. I tried to finish my purchase, but Paypal asks me again for my credit card.

Ok, I hoped it was just for verification processes, and was ok to add my german credit card for that. But unfortunately Paypal asks for a Thai Billing Address as well.

After contacting the Paypal Support they suggested to create a german paypal account, and add my german card there. Actually this is no solution, since Steam certainly has an API to seperate between Thai and German Paypal accounts.

For now it seems the only way to become customer from Steam again would be to get a Thai credit card (which wastes about a day of time at the bank for me, and creates additional fees for the card itself).

In most other countries it is possible to somehow pay with a bank account, but in Thailand they or their payment providers do not offer any services. It is funny anyway that Steam includes Paypal in Thailand as a payment option - except convenience for regular Paypal customers they do not offer anything Steam cant do by themself.

So Valve pays for 0 service to Paypal, and can not offer any valid methods of payment for Thai Bank Accounts. I guess Steam looses a lot of potential revenue - many Thais I know do not use credit cards, but pay online either over their bank account or other nationwide Systems.
